Meet the WMMS Chorus Teacher

Anna Armstrong joined the Wendell Magnet Middle School staff as the Chorus Electives teacher in 2023. She is a dedicated and passionate music educator who graduated from East Carolina University in May 2023 with a bachelor’s in music education and a minor in English. Anna embarks on the next chapter of her academic journey, having been accepted into the ECU “Master of Music with Concentration in Music Education” Graduate Program, beginning May 2025. Her love for music and teaching has been a lifelong journey, leading her to combine these passions into a career as a music teacher. During her time at ECU, Anna demonstrated exceptional leadership and commitment, serving as the President of the American Choral Directors Association, acting as a Music and Apple Ambassador, and performing with the prestigious ECU Chamber Singers under the direction of Dr. James Franklin.

Beyond her professional and academic pursuits, Anna is a well-rounded individual with diverse interests. She is an enthusiastic sports fan and former softball player, enjoys reading in her leisure time, and loves to travel to places like the Outer Banks and Charleston, SC. Her joyful spirit is complemented by her beloved fiancé, Will, who she is preparing to marry in March 2025. Their family is completed by their sweet black Labrador, Hattie and their new kitten, Jayce.
